Addition of melee damage to tanks (100% damage to body hits, 150% to fuel cell hits) means you can theoretically do ~2460 DPS for tank body strikes, or ~3690 DPS for weakspot strikes in the ass and underside of an HAV.
How every bone is your arm does break into many pieces upon striking the plating of an HAV I have no idea......

That's not even remotely a good enough answer...... it's not wonder the representation of tanks in Dust is garbage at best.

Maybe Myofibs synergize with nanite repair to fortify muscle tissue as it is being placed under extreme compressive forces. From a game play standpoint, I might make more sense if players took minor health damage when continuously punching hardbody objects.
Not enough to punch through reinforced tank armour employing similar technologies.
You don't design vehicles or employ them if they are so vulnerable someone can stick an arm through the side as though it were paper.
I mean lets for a moment think to ourselves why a tank crew is encased in hundreds of millimetres of advanced composite armours. Lets ask ourselves why this is necessary and tanks don't have lovely windows for pilots to look through.
Maybe we should Ask a Russian and find out.
I mean the new changes are literally establishing the standard melee attack using the butt of a rifle as close to the power of an 80Gj Particle Cannon Round and more powerful than a standard 80Gj Ion Cannon Round......
In modern terms. Whacking the rear armour of an M1A1 Abrams with a standard M4A1 Assault Rifle = slightly less penetrating power than a 120mm Cannon Round HEAP or APSFDS Kinetic Penetrator.... however has more penetrating power than a .50 Calibre Shell.

After testing, it would be probably be good to; -Buff resistances to non-weakpoints -NPE: Include a very frequent info tip on loading screens about weakpoints
Hitting weak points to ensure maximum damage...... good game mechanics.
Tearing a hole in the side of a tank with the pistol grip of a Scrambler Pistol over the course of 2-3 seconds...... utterly ridiculous.
